Oregon Head Coaching Job: The Ducks can do no right in this basketball coaching search. They missed with Billy Donovan two weeks ago. Yesterday morning, Jamie Dixon snubbed ’em. We hear he wasn’t all that impressed with the offer, which leads us to believe Phil Knight’s ego got in the way (guessing: this is a good job, we don’t need to offer him that much to get him). Dixon then signed an extension with Pittsburgh. The Ducks thought they had him. Now, it’s desperation time: Does Knight put his ego aside and decide to take yet another run at Gonzaga’s Mark Few? If Few wants, he can ask for $3 mil a year … simply because the only other two names we hear Oregon is kicking around right now are Butler’s Brad Stevens and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo. After that, guys like Randy Bennett (St. Mary’s) and Steve Alford (New Mexico) are supposedly on the list.
Enjoying the moment.
They also play football out west.
Dunk of the year?
No, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather won’t be fighting.
Heisman Trophy finalists have been announced.
Aroldis Chapman doesn’t think the Cubs are interested in him.
He’ll have plenty of bidders if he hits the market.
