The slobbering got worse five weeks later in the title game against Oklahoma – Thom Brennaman was so in awe that he turned off viewers . The QB has been one of the biggest deals in sports since then, and the Denver Post has quickly realized Tebow is big business – columnist Mark Kiszla wrote two columns about Tebow this weekend. Preseason is four months away.

Saturday, March 1

"The Broncos hijacked the NFL draft by grabbing Tebow in the first round. Careful what you wish for. Tebow has hijacked the Broncos. It’s his team. Nobody and nothing else matter."

Hope Brady Quinn, Kyle Orton, Champ Bailey and Knowshon Moreno didn’t read this.

"Well, this shiny, happy, new No. 15 for the Broncos has real potential to instigate far more discord in the locker room than Marshall ever did with any of his stupid human tricks. There will be whispers under the breath and unhealthy alliances among Denver players until McDaniels alleviates the inevitable tension by giving Tebow a chance to succeed or fail as the team’s No. 1 quarterback. Anybody who thinks Tebow won’t be the starting quarterback before 2012 knows absolutely zero about how the NFL works. Think it’s all about football? Wrong. This is the entertainment business. Business, to say nothing of in-house fighting or screams from fans, will dictate Tebow is on the field as the No. 1 QB in this town ASAP. Oh, McDaniels might think he’s in control of the situation. Sorry. Tebow time waits for no man, not even the head coach. Count me squarely among the admirers of Tebow the role model and firmly among the doubters of Tebow the franchise savior."

Tebow’s no Mark Sanchez or Matt Stafford. He isn’t a week one starter. And if he throws five picks in a game – Sanchez and Stafford each did it last season – the critics will be much more vocal (yes, even though he wasn’t the No. 1 pick like Stafford or playing under the media scrutiny in New York) especially because the Broncos have a proven veteran like Orton on the bench.

"There’s no denying Tebow is a winner. But playing quarterback for Florida might be the cushiest gig in college football. You telling me Quinn or Orton couldn’t have won a national championship for the Gators? …"

Someone’s going to get chewed out by Urban Meyer …

"McDaniels certainly wouldn’t be the first person to hyperventilate in the reflection of Tebow’s smile. He shines like the Florida sun. His personality is as genuinely powerful as truth, justice and the American way. Tebow is the best man for the job. In tests of character, he’s unbeatable. But is Tebow the best quarterback for a professional team? There’s a big difference."

And his farts smell like Jean Paul Gaultier. This summer, Tebow will go kayaking down the Colorado without a paddle and for an encore this winter, he’ll scale the highest mountain in a sleeveless t-shirt and shorts.
