Tiger Woods' 19th Place Finish at the Memorial Can't Possibly Bode Well For Pebble Beach, Can It?

Tiger’s wayward stroke led to three fans being hit. Afterward, Tiger said he was around 50 percent “back” from his bulging disk injury that hurt him last month. (He didn’t delve into where he is mentally; the fact that he hasn’t been photographed with his kids or his wife in awhile leads us to believe that’s where his biggest issue is.)

Next up for embattled Eldrick – Pebble Beach in two weeks. It was the scene of perhaps his finest effort as a golfer, when he overwhelmed the field 10 years ago en route to a 15-stroke victory. Fans don’t seem all that panicked about Tiger’s struggles. TV executives probably are – there was zero buzz about the Memorial with Tiger not in contention. (Then again, it was up against mayhem in college football, plus the NBA and NHL finals.) If Tiger doesn’t finish in the Top 10 at Pebble Beach, then will you panic? [Photo: Icon]
