USA-Algeria: It's Simple - Win and Advance

Bob Bradley has chosen three new starters for the US – Maurice Edu in the midfield, Herculez Gomez up front, and Jeff Bornstein in the back for Oguchi Onyewu, who had a poor game against Slovenia. The Bornstein decision will be the most scrutinized if the US somehow loses, but we think Bradley made a good decision here. Onyewu’s health was fine against England after the long layoff; not so much against Slovenia.

Algeria, a decided underdog, has just three shots on goal in the first two games and has yet to score. (The only other country not to score at the World Cup is Honduras.) The pick here is USA 2, Algeria 0. A loss would be a catastrophic for Bob Bradley and USA soccer in general.
