Day II of the Pitino-Sypher extortion case was explosive! Although Lester Goetzinger (a utility repairman who is best described as Bobby from King of the Hill; also known as Spyher’s blow job buddy) had a hilarious turn on the stand, the biggest storyline seems to be whether or not Goetzinger actually made the third phone call (“Within two weeks, media will be notified of all the evidence and details of the rape”) to Pitino. There seems to be some dispute about the voice of the caller. Was it Goetzinger or someone else? Perhaps most perplexing about the trial is that one blog’s covering the hell out of it, and the Courier-Journal is, too … but as clickable as this story is, we’re surprised the court isn’t crawling with media outlets. Perhaps when Pitino takes the stand, which might be today. [Kentucky Sports Radio]
