Jim Gray vs. Corey Pavin: Yesterday, Jim Gray reported for the Golf Channel that US Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin “will add Tiger Woods to the team if Woods doesn’t qualify.” Gray quoted Pavin as saying, “Of course I’m going to [pick him]. He’s the best player in the world.” This morning, Pavin denied the report via twitter: “For the record, @golfchannel and Jim Gray has misquoted me re: picking Tiger. I never said such a thing and will not say a thing until 09/07.” The only way for fans to get remotely interested in the Ryder Cup – get Tiger on the team. Thus, Pavin will pick him. Big summer for Jim Gray, huh?
