Layla Kiffin Has Some Competition From Another Pac-10 Wife: Sarah Harbaugh

At the very minimum, it should add mild intrigue to the Stanford-USC game this year. (The Cardinal rolled ‘em, 55-21 last year at the Coliseum.) Sarah Harbaugh was several months pregnant when this photo was taken late last month. Layla Kiffin … is a big deal on the internet.

Mind if we turn this into a mid-day college football link dump? Good.

* Notre Dame plans to no-huddle so much this year that the length of its commercials on NBC has been scaled back. [South Bend Trib]

* How does the hot seat feel, Les Miles and Mark Richt? “Ask yourself this: Two Augusts ago, could you have imagined any scenario in which Tommy Tuberville would be fired at Auburn and Phillip Fulmer would be fired at Tennessee? It may not be fair. It certainly isn’t sensible. But that’s the SEC.” [SI; Previously, on Richt]

* More love for Jerrod Johnson of Texas A&M! We took the over. It’s probably not too late to get in on it.

* The Wall Street Journal looked at projected starters across the nation and determined that Florida and USC are tied for first with the “starred” recruits (4.27 average stars). The entire recruiting business is highly suspect because … Notre Dame is next (4.09 average stars). This, of course, will spark a debate about whether Notre Dame can still recruit at an elite level (of course it can), or whether recruiting services purposely inflate the rankings for Notre Dame recruits (this probably goes on everywhere; the conjecture for years has been that Scout/Rivals/whoever inflate Notre Dame recruits the most).
