College Football: Miami vs. Pittsburgh, Dave Wannstedt Was Good Enough to Have Proteges?

The teams are similar, which is no surprise, since Randy Shannon played and coached under Dave Wannstedt. Both play a clean, pre-Madden brand of football, pro-style offenses and 4-3 defenses that get pressure from the line rather than fancy blitz packages. Miami has more speed. Pitt is more physical.

I’m going with The U.  When they weren’t giving the ball back, Miami moved it down the field against Ohio State’s defense.  If Utah and New Hampshire had an easy time throwing against Pitt’s secondary, Jacory should go for 300.  Miami has a better offense and a better defense, so should, consequently, be better.  I also have no faith in Dave Wannstedt’s game management. How many of his career opportunities have come solely because he looks like a central casting football coach?
