ESPN, which presumably was inundated with inquiries on the topic, emailed out the following statement: “ESPN did not directly or indirectly ask the coaches to take a timeout during the game.” [UPDATE: Despite the ESPN statement and Fisher’s smirk … the NFL is investigating this incident.]
