*The reverse-jinx is the most brilliant ploy any sports fan has every thought of. (Ever.) It always works because fans and spectators have direct control over the events (or anti-vents) of sporting contests. Of course, talking about the reverse-jinx might actually jinx the reverse-jinx. And I don’t even want to think about what acknowledging that fact could have on the game. When I started this footnote, I had I could possibly create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that’s a worse case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.
