If you don’t feel bad for Greg Oden, do you have a heart? If you’ve been reading this blog since its inception in 2006, you know we’ve been rooting for Oden. From his days in high school as a dancing machine, to nearly delivering a nasty dunk on Jeff Green at the Final Four, to the partying at Penn State, to the dong pictures, wicked-cool T-shirts and incessant partying, he’s been one of our favorite athletes to blog about. We hope his career isn’t over.
But a chipped kneecap, a broken kneecap, and two microfractures? Is there any chance he recovers for all of this? In four years he’s played 82 games with the Blazers. He probably won’t play another. When Oden and Conley left Ohio State following their freshman year, nobody could have predicted the point guard would get a contract extension and Oden wouldn’t.
