Heisman Rankings Week 14: If Not Newton, Luck?

Andrew Luck (Stanford): Luck has been making himself and Jim Harbaugh a lot of money this season. He capitalized on Oregon’s State’s porous pass defense, throwing 21/30 for 305 yards and four touchdowns. He’s taking Stanford to the Orange Bowl.

LaMichael James (Oregon): James is the most productive running back in the country. He had another good performance (28 carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns) against a solid Arizona run defense. I think, however, he will be overshadowed by and, to an extent, hurt by the perception he’s a product of Oregon’s offense.

Kellen Moore (Boise State): Moore had another nice game against Nevada, 20/31 for 348 yards and two touchdowns. The trouble? He needed Boise State to go undefeated. Boise’s sudden drop in the polls will have a corresponding drop in his Heisman voting. Leading a team to the National Title Game has more cache than the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State): Blackmon was held in check by Oklahoma. For Blackmon held in check is catching eight balls or 105 yards and a touchdown. He may be the most unstoppable force in college football not named Newton.
