Kirby Smart: Alabama’s defensive coordinator, so brilliant last year in helping the Tide win the title – his SEC Championship game destruction of mighty Tim Tebow was epic – is reportedly being heavily courted by Florida’s Will Muschamp to run the Gators’ defense. Georgia made a run at Smart after last season, and the Tide boosted his salary to $750k, so the Gators would probably have to get to $1 million to woo him out of Tuscaloosa. Pretty aggressive move by Muschamp; if he takes Saban’s right hand man, October’s tilt in The Swamp will carry even more significance (if that’s possible). The guess here is Smart won’t leave. Not stopping him, though.
