Last night The Rock made his long awaited, moment owning return to Monday Night Raw, and as expected of one of the most entertaining wrestlers to ever enter the squared circle, it was quite an appearance.
Now I haven’t been following wrestling nearly as closely as I used to, but The Rock’s unmistakable presence was an instant reminder of why I once did. I’m pretty sure you don’t even need to like wrestling to enjoy this commanding performance. One of the few wrestling moments that I’d compare to him stepping back into the ring would have to be Ric Flair’s emotional return to WCW. Beyond that, it difficult to say anyone has ever quite reached where The Rock’s impressively high eyebrow was last night.
The entire 23 minutes is pure excellence, but at the 6:23 mark of the second video, his verbal homicide of John Cena is precisely why wrestling was at its peak when The Rock was doing this every Monday night.
In a word, tremendous. The Rock has come back (…wait for it…) home.
