College Basketball: Pat Knight was let go by Texas Tech this morning. He’s been a disaster in Lubbock, going 16-42 in the Big 12 in 3+ seasons as head coach. Back in December, Lee Barfknecht at the World-Herald thought Billy Gillespie would make a good replacement. It’s a decent job, but not better than NC State or Arkansas, assuming those open up. Towson fired coach Pat Kennedy today, too. Another name to monitor as the week progresses: Jim Boylen at Utah. Also, Paul Hewitt might need a couple wins at the ACC tournament to keep his job … but he’s got an expensive buyout, so I think they’ll give him another year to turn it around at Georgia Tech.
It could have been far more dispiriting.
No one is paying him to smile.

The Golden State Warriors have won 14 of their last 15 games. They’re 18-3 on the season and it appears they skipped that (…)
It’s all going according to plan.
The Sheriff will hold a press conference this morning to discuss the details of the case.
A barrage of points.
