Charlie Davies scored twice in his DC United debut last night, after coming on as a substitute in the second half. It was Davies’ first competitive match since he suffered multiple traumatic injuries in an Oct. 2009 car accident. It’s hard to gleam much from the goals. The first was a penalty. On the second, his marker fell over, but seeing him hit the net twice and bust out his trademark stanky leg celebration was surely an optimistic sign.
Sending best wishes.
