Tiger Woods Roars Back Into Contention, Rory McIlroy Continues To Lead The 2011 Masters

Tiger Woods is back! Golf is saved! Hooray! After a quiet -1 on Thursday, Tiger looked like the celebrated womanizer that dominated golf all those years ago as he shot a 6-under 66 yesterday. Tiger moved all the way up to a tie for third place with the score. It was the second best round of the day as Jason Day shot a 8-under 64. Rory McIlroy was -3 for the round and held onto his lead.

McIlroy and Day will be the last pair to tee off this afternoon at 2:45 Eastern. Tiger and K.J. Choi (-7) tee off at 2:35. Coverage begins on CBS at 3:30. The entire lineup is here, but we’re probably going to spend a good chuck of our time with those guys. And isn’t it nice knowing that we’re going to spend an afternoon watching Tiger Woods golf in a major championship after the cut with him still very much in contention? It really is a beautiful sight seeing his name on the actual leaderboard instead of the “Notables” list.
