The NHL Is a Pathetic Disgrace

During the aforementioned time slot, NBC will be showing golf and Versus will be gifting its audience with “NLL Lacrosse” featuring the highly anticipated collision between the Calgary Roughnecks and the Colorado Mammoth, followed by a mind-numbing hour of qualifying for the “Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.” It’s so baffling it almost sounds made up. I would imagine this level of programming could have easily been moved around, particularly what Versus is airing, as I’m guessing whether it’s live or not, no one would care or even know the difference.
Hockey fans are some of the most loyal and passionate fans you’ll ever find. People who watch hockey don’t like hockey, they love hockey. Gary Bettman and the NHL’s continual desire to fuck with the fans that love the sport, whether intentional or just utterly clueless, remains one of the most puzzling, depressing, and seemingly neverending trends in all of sports.
