Nick Lidstrom Scores a Pretty Goal as the Red Wings Avoid The Sweep

Forget the economy, things are looking up in the Motor City. Facing a 3-0 deficit the Red Wings jumped out to their own 3-0 lead with goals like this beauty from Nicklas Lidstrom. The 41-year old Wings captain bounced the puck to himself before slapping it into the goal.

The Red Wings let the lead slip away as the Sharks tied the game on Dany Heatley’s goal early in the third period. Darren Helm scored the game-winner with 87-seconds remaining and the Red Wings will live to hockey another day.

In other hockey action, Boston completed the sweep of Philadelphia. I’m sure Flyers’ fans will be glad I’m glossing over their 5-1 defeat.

Because you want to see it first!
