College Basketball: On the surface, Ed DeChellis leaving Penn State to coach at Navy is a shocker. Big Ten to the Patriot League? A $200k paycut? Who does that? But it sounds like DeChellis was getting jerked around by Penn State, and ESPN’s Dana O’Neill reports he was going to be fired if PSU didn’t make the NCAA tournament (the Lions did, but they got bounced in the first round by Temple), and after the Lions made it, no extension offer was made, meaning he was cooked after next season (a rebuilding one, for sure). So who’s getting the job? The Lions are a football school, so forget the big names (Bob Knight and Bruce Pearl are laughable). Perhaps a mid-major coach from the area, or a Big East assistant?
