Jimmer Doesn't Seem Interested In Milwaukee, But His Hometown Doesn't Mind

Perhaps the presence of 21-year-old Brandon Jennings as the Bucks starting point guard has something to do with Fredette’s decision.

Fredette recently told the Salt Lake Tribune, “It’s all about longevity of the career. If you’re in the wrong situation, even if you go high, your career can be cut really short and that’s not what you want.”

It’s possible those are connected. Or maybe he just doesn’t want to live in Milwaukee. After spending four years on the BYU campus, it would be tough to deal with all those white people.

Speaking of cities full of white people… Jimmer’s hometown of Glens Falls, New York will host “Jimmer Jam” the night of the draft at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Everyone who attends will receive a free wrist band in choice of red or black, the Glens Falls High School colors, with the slogan “Set goal, work hard – Jimmer,” on it.

Features will include projection of television coverage of the NBA draft on large video screens, interspersed with highlight videos of Fredette’s college basketball games.

Organizers are working through Fredette’s agent to try to convince ESPN, which is televising the draft, to do a cut-away broadcast from the Civic Center when Fredette gets picked, said city Councilman-at-Large Dan Hall.

Jimmer is working out for the Sacramento Kings today who have the #7 pick and he’s worked out for the Knicks who have the #17 selection. I still can’t believe a team besides Utah ends up with Jimmer, but you never know. There would be nothing quite as silly as Jimmer demanding a trade out of Milwaukee, Stevie Franchise-style. Whatever happens, upstate New York will stay gaga over the kid.
