TV Ratings for Game Six of the NBA Finals Were Astronomical

We’ve gone multiple rounds on this site (since this post) about the race in this country for the No. 2 sport behind the NFL. Here’s another reason it’s the NBA – you have to go back seven years to find a non-Yankees World Series game that topped last night’s rating (2004, when Boston was winning its first World Series since 1918 against the St. Louis Cardinals). If you’re wondering about TV market size, Dallas/Fort Worth is 5th and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale is 16th, according to this site.

It’s really too bad the lockout is going to severely damage all the positive energy the sport has built up over the last couple years.
