Wilson Valdez, an infielder for the Phillies, made $400,000 in 2010, and he’s slated to make $560,000 this year. Yet according to Dan Gross of the Philly Daily News, Valdez is a very, very bad tipper:
tipped only 50 cents on two drinks he paid for with a $100 bill for him and a pal just before last call at Time (1315 Sansom) after last Thursday’s late-ending game against the Cubs.
Don’t you love the dichotomy between a $100 bill (look at me, I’m a high roller!) and the cheapness ($0.50 tip)? [Daily News]
