D-Backs Pull Prank on Kirk Gibson With "Tie Gate"

J.J. Putz and Kelly Johnson recently did a little hunting on YouTube and found a commercial that Kirk Gibson did for Right Guard in 1989. I’m guessing the fact that it featured their no nonsense manager happily sitting in a bubble bath with his butler presiding was reason enough to inspire them to take a still from the spot and have it placed onto ties for the entire team to wear on their flight back to Arizona. Putz’s convincing deadpan in the video while he explains his innocence is priceless. The Diamondbacks seem like a team that actually enjoys being around one other. What a concept.
Did they only do one take for this commercial? Kirk’s dong bulge is blatantly obvious when he puts on his Dodgers towel. Sorry, but someone had to say it.
