The Winnipeg Jets Are Dead. Long Live The Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets will play the 2011-2012 season in the Eastern Conference,  in the division that features Tampa Bay, Washington, Florida and Carolina. It made sense for Atlanta, less so for Winnipeg. Obviously, the NHL is looking to realign with a final decision likely to be made in December. Winnipeg would end up in the West while Detroit, Nashville and Columbus are looking to move East. They might go from six divisions to four.
