Williams, a feisty New Zealander who has long been loyal and fiercely defensive of Tiger, took a few surprising shots last night at the former top-ranked golfer in the world during a radio interview:

"“I’m just a little disappointed in the timing of it, given the circumstances of the past 18 months and what we’ve been working through. So the timing of it is a little disappointing.” “I think when you’re great friends with somebody and a situation like this occurs you obviously lose some kind of respect, and that sort of respect has to be gained back through time. “Given my loyalty, and the way I am, the timing of it is pretty poor really. I’ve stood by this guy through thick and thin and the timing of it is very poor from my perspective.” “The guys are not intimidated by him anymore because he has played so poorly for so long and they know he’s not mentally as strong as he used to be.”"

If you read Jason Whitlock today, you might think this is a good thing for Tiger. He’s a new person – he has a beard now! – and sometimes, part of rehab is moving on from all those things that used to be a part of your life. Which is probably why he hasn’t been in contact with former Vegas staples Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley.

I’m torn: is Tiger a dick for dumping Williams, or is Williams ungrateful for mouthing off about a guy who made him a millionaire many times over because he carried a bag? Probably a little bit of both?
