With the crucial aid of the internet there have been more than a few cases of fans acting stupidly at baseball games when it comes to possibly taking home a game-used souvenir, whether it be failing to protect their generously boobed girlfriend or mercilessly snatching fouls balls from children. It’s been ugly, and most of us secretly love it, but every now and then we’re privy to that rare selfless moment. Fittingly, this touching space of time involved no adults.

The moment took place in Arizona at last night’s Diamondbacks-Brewers game where a young fan, who couldn’t be more than 11-years-old, was lucky enough to score a ball from Rickie Weeks. He was instantly delighted and paraded as such until he noticed an upset, empty-handed little boy nearby. To the world’s astonishment, he made his way over and presented the little guy with the baseball. Unbelievable. Probably the biggest upset since Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro agreed to do a movie with 50 Cent.

What I did find myself disliking immensely was the ungrateful mother’s rude reaction. The heartless hag barely acknowledged the gesture.
