Copa America Final: Uruguay vs. Paraguay (Feel the Excitement)
By Ty Duffy
Uruguay have been successful here, for the same reason they were in South Africa, they are coherent and defensively sound. International teammates – Spain’s Barcelona core being a notable exception – don’t play with each other week in, week out at club level and are missing a natural continuity. The team that flows well and has tactical discipline in International play has an easier time overcoming a muddled, talented one (See Brazil and Argentina).
Expect this to be a stalemate, uninteresting unless you love defensive tactics. Somewhere within the probable 120 minutes, Forlan or Suarez finds a way to make a play.
Prediction: 1-0 Uruguay.
