Kevin Kolb Traded to Cardinals for Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd Round Pick

As expected, the Eagles traded backup QB Kevin Kolb to the Cardinals this afternoon, and they actually got a nice haul in return – a 2nd round draft pick and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. According to Adam Caplan of Fox Sports, Kolb reportedly inked a 5-year, $63 million deal with the Cardinals.

Guess Arizona was so desperate for a QB, they felt like overpaying. Gotta keep Fitz happy, right?

I like this deal more for Philly now than I did before (when it was rumored to be a pick or Rodgers-Cromartie). Worst-case scenario: Vick goes down with an injury and is lost for the season, Philly goes 4-12, but they come back strong next year with a three high drafts picks … and a new head coach. This is not a knock on Andy Reid, but sometimes, new blood can be vital to a franchise.
