The Saints are always gonna throw it around because that’s how they tire out defenses – but this year I believe Mark Ingram will get plenty of carries.
Not a 300-carry guy, probably not even 240. But he’ll be out there a lot. Scoring TDs.
Remember, they drafted Ingram in the first round, passing on studs like Wisconsin OT Gabe Carimi and Pitt DE Jabaal Sheard. Pierre Thomas isn’t 100% and Chris Ivory just had hernia surgery.
History is not on Ingram’s side because Sean Payton has only doled out 20+ carries to a running back eight times in four seasons, last in the NFL.
But the beauty of Payton is his ability to change and adapt. Ingram is a Top 20 fantasy back with some nice upside. Keep him in mind for your fantasy team’s No. 2 back.
