Baton Rouge police have issued an arrest warrant for LSU QB Jordan Jefferson according to WBRZ TV in Louisiana. What a wild week for Jefferson – three days ago, police said there would be no charges against Jefferson following his participation in a bar fight last week, but the boys in blue said the investigation would continue. Two days ago, police went to Jefferson’s apartment and took 49 pairs of shoes as evidence. Thursday, Jefferson turned 21 years old.
Once Jefferson is arrested [UPDATE: They’re at the jail right now], it seems highly unlikely Les Miles would give him the start in the season opener against Oregon next Saturday night. That would mean senior Jarrett Lee gets the start. Between Jefferson’s suspension and that of wide receiver Russell Shepard, that’s an enormous advantage for the Ducks.
[UPDATE: LSU has announced that Jefferson has been suspended indefinitely from the team.]
