Javaris Crittenton, the former 1st round draft pick who nearly had a gun duel with Gilbert Arenas in the locker room, is turning himself in to police Tuesday morning, his attorney told the AJC. Crittenton has been wanted by Atlanta police – and the FBI – since Friday afternoon in the shooting death of a 22-year-old. According to the FBI, Crittenton bought a 1-way ticket to LA on August 24.
[UPDATE: Crittenton had planned to fly to Atlanta on a red eye to turn himself in Tuesday morning, but the cops got him Monday night.]
So two days before the cops get the arrest warrant for Crittenton, he flees town? And then nothing from his attorney for thee days? And now he’s “innocent?” Well, at least this is better news than the potential of this situation ending up like Ray Carruth’s, with Crittenton hiding from police under debris in the back of a pickup truck.
