Floyd Mayweather is gearing up for his September 17th fight against Victor Ortiz. As usual, Mayweather is filming HBO’s 24/7 series which gives sports fans a look behind the scenes at how the fudge is packed in the boxing world. Mayweather is no stranger to the series, having done the show 4 previous times.

At the end of the episode, Mayweather got into it with his former trainer and current father, Floyd Sr. What starts as playful barbs quickly (at least in this edit) turns into a heated argument about who made who. Neither man wants to give the other credit.  Eventually, they turn to calling each other motherfuckers and multiple people get between them. It’s great theater until you remember that this is father and son. They both have some real issues with each other that a few sessions with a therapist probably wouldn’t help much.

By running almost the entire conflict at the end of the episode Fight Hype thinks HBO may be going the sensationalist route and hurting the PPV buy rate as a result. I don’t think any of that matters, but the idea that HBO should censor or hide something like this from the audience is absurd. Suggesting HBO not run a heated argument between a father and son who have a long history of issues would almost be dishonest. What’s the point of an All-Access show if not to show stuff exactly like that?
