Kevin Durant and LeBron James Put on Another Summer Dunking Exhibition, This Time in Baltimore

Can it be possible that these summer dunk-a-thons are … getting old? Last night, reading online updates of the latest summer league game featuring NBA All-Stars, I was fascinated by the action, and bemoaned the fact it wasn’t televised. This morning I woke up and saw the highlights and … impressive, but not mind-blowingly incredible, like the time Kevin Durant parachuted into Rucker Park and closed the joint down.

Perhaps that Durant performance was more about the unexpected nature of it – ESPN wasn’t providing updates, the media wasn’t all over it – and everyone woke up to this insane, jaw-dropping performance.

Tuesday’s Melo League vs. Goodman League game featured plenty of spectacular highlights – I’m partial to the Durant cross-up and dunk over LeBron at the 1:25 mark – and the video will easily go viral and top 1 million views by the end of the weekend. But you know what it left me salivating for? The NBA.

And I stand by my statement earlier this month: Kevin Durant has owned this summer and I think he’ll be the league’s best player … whenever the NBA lockout ends.
