Kyle Beckerman is known for steady midfield play, not for spectacular finishing. His class effort for Real Salt Lake, however, is one of the goals of the season in MLS. Club duty fulfilled, the 29-year-old has been recalled to the USMNT for the friendly with Belgium. Don’t expect stunts like that, but if he can play the positionally sound midfield he did against Mexico there will be a place for him in the team. He’s a bit slight, but has been a winner and warrior at club level. I like the cut of his jib.
