Blackburn 4-3 Arsenal. The Misery Continues.

The Gunners now have won just three of their last 16 in the Premier League. They have already conceded 14 goals through five games (two of them own goals in the second half today), three more than any other club and 11 more than any team in the league’s top ten. Arsenal’s season is over before the fall equinox, before Arsene Wenger can even bring out his puffy coat to hide in. Their end of season signing spree seems to have been sprinkling spices into poisoned soup.
Have to question Arsene Wenger’s future. Have to question the future of chief executive Ivan Gazidis. The former MLS Deputy Commissioner appears to have carried over the league’s tactical nous to the club in addition to the fiscal restraint.
From ESPN’s Steve McManaman: “I have to apologize. I said they were a million miles away from winning the Premier League. They’re a billion miles away.”
