"We’ve been dealing with the fluidity of the conference landscape on multiple levels for a week, and at this point we wouldn’t be able to comment on speculation."

Syracuse and Pittsburgh would be another big move to bring in East Coast markets to the ACC and extend the conference north of Baltimore. However long it takes to get there, and however many more reports and rumors of schools moving, it appears the inevitability is four conferences of 14-16 teams in the East, South, North and West. Can we just move this along so we can get back to focusing on games?

[UPDATE: Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports reports that Syracuse and Pittsburgh have submitted letters of application to the ACC, and a source told McMurphy both are “likely gone.” Gotta wonder how TCU feels, huh? It decided to leave for the Big East last year, and before the Horned Frogs even arrive, two Big East teams are bolting and it feels like maybe the conference could be crumbling. If we’re heading toward 4 16-team Super Conferences, the Big East needs to quickly make moves on … somebody. If Syracuse and Pittsburgh leave, the conference would just be left with seven teams (West Virginia, South Florida, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Louisville and Connecticut). Could Temple and Navy be options? You also have to wonder who the other two potential ACC would be. If Texas is serious about the ACC, who is the 16th?]
