Harris, a 5-11, 207-pound junior from Lawton, Okla., intercepted two passes in top-ranked Oklahoma’s 23-13 victory at No. 5 Florida State.

His first interception return of 69 yards set up an Oklahoma field goal. His second interception, with 5:34 remaining in the game, ensured the Sooners victory. Harris also had three unassisted tackles and broke up a pass.

Other top defensive players from this past weekend included:

Notre Dame CB Robert Blaton, who had six tackles, a sack and a goal-line interception late in the game that he returned 82 yards in the Fighting Irish’ s 31-13 win over Michigan State.

Utah LB Trevor Reilly, who had two sacks and a fumble recovery during a 54-10 victory over BYU.

Iowa S Micah Hyde, who had a key interception in a 31-27 come-from-behind win against Pitt.

Harris will be added to the 2011 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List. Five finalists for the Nagurski Trophy will be announced on Nov. 17.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be presented to the best defensive player in college football on Dec. 12 by the FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.
