Through the 100% Certified program, EAS said that all its sports nutrition products are “banned substance tested” by industry-leading, independent, laboratories and marked with a “tested and true” seal.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Other members of Team EAS include Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals, Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers, golfer Charles Howell III and extreme athletes Sam Tickle and Mark Weir.

Gay is expected to appear in marketing and activations under EAS’s current umbrella campaign, “Power to the People,”  to help raise awareness for the importance of performance nutrition and clean competition in all sports at all levels.

Gay participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics in 2008. The world champion sprinter is seeking a return trip to the Olympic Games next summer in London and an opportunity to capture his first Olympic medal.

He plans to compete in several early season domestic meets in the spring of 2012, before heading to the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., according to EAS.

Tyson, 28, has been a strong supporter of anti-doping initiatives through his work with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s “Project Believe” program during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where he was regularly tested to ensure the absence of performance-enhancing drugs.

“Every time I put something in my body, I have to think about what it is, where it came from and how it will impact my training and racing,” said Tyson. “I am excited to be part of the EAS Sports Nutrition 100% Certified program and supporting nutrition education and informed choices around safe supplement use.”
