"According to Tampa police, Schafer had an expired Mississippi license tag on his black 2008 Range Rover when he was stopped on Columbus Avenue. The arrest report states that both front windows were down and a “strong odor of marijuana was emitting” from the car. The report said Schafer had a marijuana joint in his left hand, and a search of the vehicle found a “clear plastic container containing a green leafy substance” which tested positive as marijuana. The report said he was in possession of 25 grams of marijuana. In Florida, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana makes the crime a third-degree felony instead of a misdemeanor."

Here’s Schafer’s mugshot. Schafer, who plays for the Astros, was suspended in 2009 for HGH under bizarre circumstances (he was never tested for HGH, but never denied using HGH). The Braves traded Schafer to the Astros in July. [St. Pete Times]
