Ohio State’s defense is that it was all individuals. There is no systemic issue. The school merely hired one corrupt coach and recruited a disappointing, but still reasonable, number of players who went “off the reservation” and accepted improper benefits from boosters. Is this a firm message to the individual player for getting popped again for an NCAA mortal sin, confirming Ohio State’s defense? Or, is this the organization’s way of noting to Ohio State enough is enough and we should stock up on popcorn before the COI hearing?

Interested to here E. Gordon Gee’s thoughts on the matter, though Saturday is treasure bath day, so it could be a while.
