Saratoga Lip Dub: Fourteen Minutes Of Train Is No Way To Increase Tourism

Ah, yes. The Official Saratoga Lip Dub. Lip dub videos are harmless enough and are generally done in one continuous shot to some disposable pop song. In June we saw Grand Rapids’ “world record”  lip dub. This morning, I saw the Official Saratoga Lip Dub on Facebook. It features not one, but three (3!) Train songs and the entire video goes on for nearly 14 minutes with credits. If ever there was an anti-tourism video, this is it.

And why are all these videos marked “official?” Is there a rogue group out there making unofficial videos of people pretending to sing Black Eyed Peas at small liberal arts colleges across the nation? I shudder to imagine.

Heeey-ey heeeey-ey-ey-ey heeeeey-ey-ey-ey-ey…
[Update: The band is obviously Train and not Nickelback. Nickelback? That’s the most Freudian slip of my day.]
