File this one in the “new to me” category. Thirteen years ago tonight, Prince Naseem Hamed defended his WBO Featherweight championship belt against Wayne McCullough. His entrance that night was a holiday-themed walk out to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Truly one of the greatest entrances in combat sports history.

If you were curious, the fight was Prince Naseem’s 11th consecutive fight title defense. He would retired three and a half years later with a 36-1 career record. You’ll also notice that the sultry voice of ESPN’s soccer coverage, Ian Darke, is on the call. Why doesn’t that man do every sport? They couldn’t teach him American football and put him in the Monday Night Football booth?

Happy Halloween!
