Kenny Powers Roger Clemens may return to competitive baseball. Clemens’ oldest son, Koby, recently signed with Indios de Mayaguez, a winter team in Puerto Rico. Roger is currently throwing bullpen sessions with the team. While it is far from certain, Clemens seems interested in playing and the team is certainly interested in letting him. From the New York Daily News:
“He didn’t say ‘Yes,’ and he didn’t say ‘No.’ I hope he does play, because that would put people in the stands,” said Ramon Conde, the Indios’ GM who had a brief stint in the majors with the White Sox in 1962. “I have never seen a press conference like that. A lot of people. We have a beautiful stadium in Mayaguez by the ocean that (seats) 15,000. Clemens would put a few thousand people in the seats. The door is open.”
Clemens certainly needs something to do while he awaits his brand new perjury trial in April.
