Houston Quarterback Matt Schaub has a significant foot injury “that’s being evaluated as we speak”, according to comments from Gary Kubiak at the press conference today. It’s a good thing I held off on writing that “Texans are the favorite for the #1 seed” post. The backup is everyone’s favorite, Matt Leinart. Houston has a bye week this week to prepare for games without Schaub, and the schedule is still favorable, but this will have an impact on how likely they are to secure a bye in the AFC.

[UPDATE: According to Adam Schefter, Schaub has a lis franc injury and will miss the rest of the season. We’ll have more on how this will impact the Texans tomorrow].
