The NBA players union rejected the latest proposal from the NBA owners today, and plan on filing an anti-trust lawsuit against the NBA in the next 48 hours. David Stern better get the owners to come back to the table quickly with an amended proposal or the entire season will be lost.
I stand by what I’ve been saying throughout the lockout – the league won’t really be missed until Christmas. As the holidays come to a close, and the
exhibitions bowl games end and January rolls around and the NFL is in the postseason and there’s much less to talk about in the sports world … fans will miss the NBA. That’s when the league will start losing fans.
It’ll really hurt come April, after the NCAA tournament. What are people going to do in May and June, when there aren’t NBA playoff games on for 30-40 days in a row? Watch regular season baseball every night?
