Desperate times (9-40 in the last four years under Paul Wulff, no bowl games since 2003) call for desperate measures. As Feldman notes, not only is Leach embroiled in a lawsuit against ESPN (for defamation) but also with Texas Tech for breach of contract. Wonder if he’ll be pulled off the recruiting trail for a court date. Better yet: Wonder how long it takes Lane Kiffin or Steve Sarkisian to use the Craig James/Adam James incident against Leach while recruiting the Northwest?
Leach does know offense though, and Washington State will need it to compete with Chip Kelly (Oregon), Kiffin (USC), Sarkisian (Washington) and yes, Rich Rodriguez (Arizona). If UCLA manages to wrangle Chris Petersen from Boise, the Pac-12 could rival the SEC for best conference in the country next year. As Ty Duffy noted to me via text, the offensive orgy that will be the Pac-12 next year could rival the MAC … “but with talent.”
