The Other Teams in the NFL Tell Donovan McNabb No Thanks

McNabb’s salary for the rest of the year wasn’t prohibitive, for a team that needed help. Still, the collective message is that teams would prefer a backup who knows he is a backup, to a backup who still thinks he should be the focus of a team. McNabb has had quite the decline, and on Sunday morning, I’ll probably close the chapter with a look back to put his career in perspective. I still think McNabb is better than half the quarterbacks on rosters out there, but that puts him in solid backup territory. I suspect his career is over unless he is willing to accept that role after an offseason. My guess is he is done playing in the NFL. The tribe has spoken.
