According to a report appearing on ESPN’s Outside The Lines, the 2011 National League MVP Ryan Braun has tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. According to OTL, Braun is protesting the finding through the arbitration process, which is why the league has not announced the positive test. If the test is upheld, Ryan Braun faces a 50 game suspension.
When talking about Alex Rodriguez’ suspension previously, Braun had stated:”I would never do it because if I took steroids, I would hit 60 or 70 home runs.” The tests was reportedly triggered by elevated testosterone levels, and Braun was notified of the positive test about a month before he was named league MVP.
