Mark Cuban Doesn't Like the Way the Mavericks' White House Visit Was Scheduled

“It doesn’t change the fact that they didn’t (schedule) a game in DC for us,” the Mavericks owner wrote Tuesday in an email. “Given the compressed schedule it should have been more of a priority because they knew better than any of us how few days off we would have to do something.”

In the league’s defense, it is a 66-game season. I mean, they didn’t even schedule the Kings to play in New Jersey! The Mavericks claim they scheduled the visit to the White House on January 9th, while the league says they worked with the Mavericks to make the visit happen.

“Our jurisdiction doesn’t extend to scheduling the president, and scheduling the Mavericks against the Wizards would have been no guarantee that the president would be in town and available,” league spokesman Mike Bass said.

The Mavericks will be on their second day off when they meet the President on January 9th. I think the Mavs’ private jumbo jet will be able to accommodate an off-day before a game in Detroit as well as it would have been before a game against the Wizards. Cuban needs to realize that not everyone is out to get him. [NY Daily News, Photo via getty]
